The service line for the elderly in Säkylä is open on weekdays 8-16. The phone number is 050 542 4031.

You can call if you are worried about coping with your everyday life (e.g. organising meal and shopping service) and you cannot get help from your family, friends or neighbours who are under 70 years old.

The Finnish Government has recommended that people over 70 would stay indoors to prevent corona virus from spreading, especially among high-risk groups. People can go outdoors but should avoid contact to other people, however, for example going into a shop causes risk of transmission. Families of the elderly over 70 who have no symptoms of virus infection, are allowed to help their elderly with for instance groceries and pharmacy shopping following good hand hygiene e.g. when dealing with cash.

Also people who are willing to volunteer to help the elderly, e.g. in friendship service, can call the service line.

If you suspect having been contracted with the virus, call the appointment number of Säkylän terveyskeskus (Säkylä health care centre), phone 02 832 9255. You can also make an assessment in the omaolo-app online: https://www.omaolo.fi/palvelut/oirearviot/649.
